Out of Australia

Returning from a major tour in Australia, Ensemble Contrechamps presents works by composer and writer Nardi Simpson, an Aboriginal artist whose meeting in Canberra proved decisive. Commissioned for a new piece that blends tradition and adventurous exploration, Simpson’s music dialogues with Jessie Cox’s latest creation, which also reflects an inquiry into origins. Performed by Contrechamps, the programme juxtaposes ancestral sonic gestures and contemporary techniques, offering a meditative and dynamic evening that explores memory, belonging and cultural transmission.
