OURO VERDE — Alexis Peskine

Alexis Peskine presents OURO VERDE, a series of large-scale portraits and tactile panels that investigate Afro-descendant identity, memory and collective spiritual experience. Using nails hammered with extreme precision into wood stained with coffee, leaves, flowers, mud and Swiss indigenous earth and plants, Peskine develops a unique, time-honed technique. The works engage ancestral healing traditions—including Candomblé from his maternal lineage—and probe resonances between African and European practices, revealing how material processes can evoke ritual, remembrance and cultural continuity.

Clara Roumégoux examines production relations and the pressure to be productive through a concise series of works. Addressing food, design and sleep, she subverts everyday objects so they become signifiers of our era. This thematic exhibition examines how street-name plaques conceal biographies, choices and memories that shape Carouge’s identity. It highlights figures commemorated in the urban fabric—political actors, artists and local personalities—through photographs, archival documents and works from the museum collection.

12 March – 9 May

The exhibition brings together three artists, Nnena Kalu, Linda Bell and Marie Gyger, whose practices examine repetitive gesture as a daily discipline. Gyger reflects on the value of labour, while Bell and Kalu pursue more spontaneous, obsessive procedures. Their works, ranging from repetitive drawings and object accumulation to installations and assembled images, show how accumulation sculpts pictorial forms and material narratives, inviting reflection on labour, ritual and the construction of visual meaning.

Opening during Nuit des Bains, Thursday 12 March, 18:00.

23 January – 19 April

Ghislaine Heger presents a photographic series of portraits that foreground 101 women from French-speaking Switzerland and their experiences of ageing and gray hair. Combining portrait photography with each subject’s own testimony, the work examines social expectations, gendered scrutiny and the intimate moments that surround a visible change.
The exhibition evokes questions of identity, dignity and resilience, offering nuanced, gentle accounts that reveal how personal histories intersect with broader cultural attitudes toward ageing.
