Join us for an exclusive pre-screening of “SELON JOY” with director Camille Lugan in attendance. The auditorium hosts “cine-relax” screenings, open to everyone. You can catch the documentary “Ladysmith Black Mambazo – The Sound of Africa”. The film chronicles the story of Joseph Shabalala and his a cappella group, a significant force against apartheid in South Africa. These screenings are free and require no reservations, welcoming all audiences, including parents with babies, seniors, and those with disabilities. The environment is laid-back, offering gentle lighting and moderate sound levels, allowing for complete freedom of movement and expression within the space.

18 – 28 September

PLAZA ON TOUR sets up at Pavillon Sicli, offering films that encourage a collective rethinking of architecture. Following Art Genève, the Plaza’s mobile cinema showcases films on architecture that challenge the myth of the solitary architect, emphasizing collaboration and shared knowledge instead. The initiative, developed by BUREAU, draws inspiration from the industrial buildings of Marc J. Saugey in America.

Wednesday 24 September, 18:00

In partnership with the International Academy of Ceramics, the Musée Ariana presents the documentary “Heureux qui comme Tounès.” Directed by Delphine Champy, the film delves into the lives of potters in the Egyptian village of Tounès, highlighting the influence of two Swiss individuals, Evelyne Porret and Michel Pastore, on the village’s development. This documentary pays tribute to four generations of potters, focusing on the empowerment of the women in Tounès who have gained independence. After the screening, there will be a discussion with the director and a reception.

The HEAD Cinema Festival returns for its second edition, celebrating the future of cinema with screenings, masterclasses, workshops, and debates. September 2025 – June 2026

LES SŒURS LUMIÈRE, the feminist film club of the Bibliothèque Filigrane, returns to Les Cinémas du Grütli with a cycle of six screenings from September 2025 to June 2026. Dedicated to the courtroom drama, this new edition offers a feminist re-reading of the genre, highlighting the challenges women face when confronted with moral and repressive orders.
