Lames de joie

Inspired by the life of Gofefô Konaté from Burkina Faso, this performance celebrates Sambla culture through a sensory journey infused with ancestral wisdom. The “Lames de joie” project, backed by the Educafon association, fosters solidarity, transmission, and intercultural respect. By blending oral tradition with modernity, contemporary griot Gofefô Konaté invites audiences to experience the sounds of the balafon and djembe. Participatory workshops offer insights into the role of griots and establish a meaningful dialogue between African and European cultures.

Our mental health remains a part of us that we still don’t speak about so easily. In an era of ‘therapists’ and ‘coaches’ who accompany our lives, what do we think about our moods and inner states? The comedian Constance speaks candidly about her struggles with mental health, with the necessary perspective to laugh about it openly. Along the way, she invites us to reflect on our connections with madness and mental well-being.

Constance will perform her latest show, aptly titled ‘Inconstance’.  There will be a discussion after the performance.

This conference is part of the series “Ces liens qui unissent, enchaînent et libèrent” hosted by the Société Médicale de Genève.
