On a stark white stage, three bodies meet — a man, a woman and a crow — and from this encounter a world is born. Now in its eleventh edition, Fête de l’Olivier stages dialogues between Arab and Mediterranean musical traditions and contemporary creation. The program gathers voices and instrumentalists such as Yasmine Hamdan, Trio Joubran and Retsina Cola, weaving intimate and powerful moments. Artists alternate between rooted repertoires and experimental approaches, inviting attentive listening and emotional resonance. The festival highlights improvisation, lyrical storytelling and cross-cultural collaboration.
Veteran noise outfit Ramleh deliver an electric, rock-tinged set led by Gary Mundy on guitar, Stuart Dennison on drums, Anthony Di Franco on electric bass and Kevin Laska on synth. Their charged, abrasive sound blends distorted guitar, dense percussion and swirling electronics into a confrontational live experience. The evening continues with record selections by La Poya and Fuxy Lady, extending the event’s raw, underground energy.
Directed by Jérôme Bel, this collectively created theatre piece is written and performed by children aged 8 to 14. The work unfolds through improvisation, playful imagination and a celebration of creative freedom, inviting an immediate, joyful stage presence.
