Anne Emery‑Torracinta examines Switzerland’s role in Rwanda between 1950 and 1994 in this investigative study. She explores Swiss cooperation before and during the sequence of events that culminated in the 1994 genocide, showing that Switzerland, present in Rwanda since independence, often looked the other way and failed to use its influence to pressure the Rwandan regime. Designed for emerging professionals and recent graduates, this workshop explores puppetry through the creation of a short performance. Four to five young artists are supported through a guided process from idea to stage, with mentorship in direction, dramaturgy and construction. Participants develop a compact work presented at a public work-in-progress showcase. The programme also offers the chance to win a fully funded four-week training placement in 2027 at Odradek, near Toulouse.

Silvia Hopenhayn, Argentine writer and cultural journalist, offers close readings of Jorge Luis Borges’s fiction and its formal strategies, drawing on her experience with Latin American literature and criticism.

She examines Borges’s short stories, focusing on character creation, paradoxes, enumerations and rhetorical devices, and argues that these brief narratives act as inventive gestures. The session explores figures like Pierre Menard, Funes and Emma Zunz and investigates how form and erudition reveal singular subjectivities.

An interactive writing workshop that explores how humor can be used to discuss sustainability without moralizing. Through guided exercises, participants write short texts that address ecological, social and economic aspects of sustainability while practising comedic writing techniques such as timing, framing and irony. The session examines strategies to balance critique and empathy and investigates how humour reveals complex issues and fosters constructive public dialogue.

Les Ateliers Acrylique are a theatrical school that celebrates the strength of group work and the intensity of stage experience. The workshops present performances written especially for participants — children, teenagers and adults — and are led by professional artists. Creators involved include Nathalie Jaggi, Delphine Demeure, Lua Gomes, Léa Ines Batoua, Evelyne Castellino, Basile Campanelli and Luca Léone. The programme emphasises collective creation, practical stage skills and ensemble dynamics.

Pierre Béguin taught literature for nearly 30 years at Collège Calvin in Geneva. Born in Geneva, he holds a degree in literature and a postgraduate diploma in psycholinguistics. A passionate traveler, he has devoted the past two decades primarily to writing.  He is the author of around ten novels, including Terre de personne (Prix Schiller 2005), Vous ne connaîtrez ni le jour ni l’heure (Prix Chronos selection, 2013), Condamné au bénéfice du doute (Prix Edouard Rod 2016), and La scandaleuse Madame B. (2020).  His most recent novel, Au nom du feu (2022), was shortlisted for the RTS Listeners’ Prize, the Lettres Frontière Prize, and the Rambert Prize.
