Des Femmes au cœur brut

Des Femmes au cœur brut is a theatrical faux-conference by Fabrice Melquiot, directed by Julien Schmutz, that stages a playful yet incisive inquiry into women artists of Art Brut. Performers Aurélie Rayroud, Selvi Purro and Yves Jenny blend biographical testimonies, art-historical analysis and poetic flashes in a form that oscillates between investigation, simulacrum and farce. A forgotten cassette in a tape recorder becomes the key to a journey through time.
Two coworkers, Kurt and Willard, are plunged into the heart of an unprecedented psychiatric experiment where delirium and lucidity intertwine.

They must piece together a puzzle that will lead them to the very edge of madness. “Why are you so angry? …Because all of a sudden I was taking control of something? …Huh? Until now you were used to completely controlling the situation, and now this strangeness has crept into your life…”

Ratib is joined by Valentin Liechti (drums, vocals), Robin Girod (bass, guitar, vocals), Flavie Ndam (saxophone, vocals), Lorraine Dinkel (guitar, vocals) and Lucas Churet (sound).
