For BiblioWeekend 2026, the MEG library hosts events centered around the theme “Play,” with a special focus on Japan and East Asia. The lineup includes a continuous toy-making workshop throughout the day, a talk by Damien Kunik, a guided tour highlighting toys from the permanent collection, and a screening of “Little Nemo” as part of the Sunday cinema feature.
Choreographer Laurence Yadi presents a new creation for young audiences after a residency in Bali. This dance solo, titled “Silahkan” (meaning “please” in Balinese), invites audiences on a journey filled with humor, poetry, and emotion. The performance unfolds within a constantly transforming set where ordinary objects turn into something extraordinary. It reveals a magical world of tales inhabited by princesses, gods, demons, and warriors, exploring the wonders and mysteries of a distant journey.

A screening of Meloni Rising, which traces Giorgia Meloni’s rapid ascent and the normalisation of far-right politics in Italy, followed by a sharp debate asking how Europe can resist re-fascisation. Historians and activists unpack the forces hollowing out democracy—from attacks on civil rights to the erosion of the rule of law—through feminist, anti-racist and decolonial lenses.

Catherine Grimm, artist, leads drawing workshops that explore urban sketching and creative reinterpretation. She draws on practical studio and plein-air experience to guide participants in expressive pencil and marker techniques.
Participants will reinterpret an existing street or square using a black-and-white template, then add colour, ideas and personal style to transform the scene. Sessions examine composition, colour application and narrative through collaborative sharing and experimentation, developing individual approaches to visual storytelling and urban illustration.

Ten years after Geneva’s Department of Public Education expanded commitments to inclusive schooling, this session examines how inclusion is experienced in everyday school life for pupils with disabilities. It explores where policies succeed or fall short and investigates collaborative practices between schools, families, support services and institutions. The discussion addresses practical cooperation, barriers to participation, and concrete strategies to translate policy into classroom practice and ensure inclusion becomes a lived, sustainable reality.

A screening of the documentary Identidad, which traces the journey of Daniel Santucho Navajas—born in detention and stolen during Argentina’s military dictatorship—followed by a forum marking 50 years since the coup d’état. As Argentina grapples with memory, justice and accountability in a shifting political landscape, filmmakers, witnesses and experts reflect on the fundamental rights to identity and truth, and on the ongoing struggle against impunity.

Set off on a musical world tour with a conductor, an actress and an illustrator. The orchestra travels to meet musicians and plays familiar classical pieces alongside lesser-known works. Chloé Perarnau draws bright, live images that dance across the stage. Children and families hear different instruments, spot colors and shapes in the drawings, and join moments of singing and movement. Short storytelling and lively sounds invite curiosity and a love for music.
