Anticipation Summit 2026 convenes policymakers, scientists and diplomats to explore the intersections of scientific foresight and international policy. Through panels and workshops, the summit examines how emerging technologies and strategic foresight can inform diplomatic decision-making, governance and global cooperation. Participants will gain insights into anticipatory methods, scenario planning and cross-sector collaboration to address complex transnational challenges. The programme emphasizes practical approaches to integrate scientific advice into policy processes and strengthen anticipatory capacities across institutions.

Syrian poet Hanadi Zarka, author of several Arabic poetry collections translated abroad, reflects on her writing practice and the resonances between her work and that of Mahmoud Darwich. Drawing on her recent international residency within the ICORN programme, she discusses her poetic process and trajectory before reading an unpublished poem translated for the occasion by Zina Maleh. The conversation will be held in Arabic with French interpretation by Asmae Ghailan.

The session examines preservation methods, identification principles and the historical context of Rousseau’s approach, combining practical skills with scientific insight to produce a lasting botanical object.

Our Biodiversity: Memory game

This interactive memory challenge invites participants to test their memory while exploring practical ways to preserve biodiversity based on Geneva’s municipal strategy. Players match “before-and-after” images that illustrate individual and institutional actions, and each correct pair reveals concise information explaining the measure. The activity examines themes such as habitat restoration, species-friendly practices, urban greening and policy responses, helping participants understand the impact and rationale behind everyday and organisational conservation choices.
