À l’écart

Based on a true story of a man who lived thirty years alone in the forest, this poetic, metaphysical investigation probes the mystery of existence and what holds us together—or drives us apart. The piece uses silence and space to turn absence into thought, alternating contemplative moments with intense emotional presence to immerse the audience in a quietly unsettling, deeply human experience.

A darkly comic solo play about obsession and domestic chaos. When Michel finds a rare record he has long sought, he prepares a perfect hour to listen — but family, neighbours and a drip that will wreck the disc steadily intrude. For his final production as a theatre director, Jean Liermier revisits Tennessee Williams’s autobiographical classic about memory, longing and family. Set in the 1930s American South, the staging gathers a company around Laura, here embodied by Aurélia Thierrée, with Cyprien Colombo, David Gobet and Clotilde Mollet completing the ensemble. Liermier’s direction emphasises fragile interiors and poetic movement, offering a liberating, weightless atmosphere that balances tenderness and uneasy nostalgia.

Created by Manon Bril and Etienne Lautrette and directed by Théo Comby Lemaitre, this hybrid lecture-performance blends scholarly rigour with theatrical wit. Historian Manon Bril guides the audience through surprising episodes of human history, overturning assumptions with a sharp, offbeat humour and playful staging. The show mixes clear popular-science explanation, theatrical images and comic timing to reveal that nothing has “always been like this”.
