Frank Zappa’s 200 Motels is a kaleidoscopic musico‑theatrical road‑movie, directed by Daniel Kramer and musically led by Titus Engel. The production blends orchestral writing, a live rock band (including Mike Keneally), soloists such as Robin Adams, Brenda Rae and Justin Hopkins, and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande with choral forces to create a surreal, fragmented journey through dream, bad trip and experimental mash‑up. Visually bold and often comedic, the staging alternates between absurdity and lyrical moments.

Emma Saba / Mary Madlean — Jalousie des Tempêtes

Emma Saba and Jeanne Pâris revive the lyric repertoire in a subversive, celebratory performance. Playing with time and inheritance, Saba reworks early arias into electric fragments, laughter and amplified sighs. The piece interrogates the politics of the voice as opera sheds its white pageant to become raw material, desire, anger and tenderness. Part performance, part concert, Jalousie des tempêtes stages a ritual of dismantling and rejoicing, where vocal technique meets bodily intensity and theatrical invention.

Revived by director Ninon Fachard after the original staging by Véronique Ros de la Grange, this solo piece stars Jacques Michel with Caroline Gasser as the prompter. The piece follows a woman who describes herself as too small, obese, ugly and a tomboy, and recounts how she forged an identity in today’s world. Using objects, clothing and puppets manipulated with inventive choreography, the performance weaves humor, poetry and music — from Patrick Bruel to gospel and karaoke — to celebrate difference and question social norms, delivering warmth and poignancy.

Molière’s Tartuffe tells the story of a slick con-man who hides behind ostentatious piety to worm his way into the wealthy Orgon household. Orgon, dazzled by Tartuffe’s sanctimonious rhetoric, defends him even as the impostor’s hypocrisy poisons family bonds and pushes the household toward ruin.

Director Jean Liermier underscores how, in Molière’s work, the female characters serve as the moral compass and spark of resistance, a beacon of hope against oppression. Staged on a stark, minimalist set that exposes the family’s rigid tensions—and featuring Gilles Privat as an unbending Orgon—this production highlights the play’s continuing resonance in a world beset by egotism, fanaticism, and conspiracy thinking. The central question remains timeless: will society keep falling for Tartuffe’s brand of seductive deceit?

Winner of a 2025 Molière, “The Loop” is a zany comedy by Robin Goupil that takes the audience on a whimsical detective journey through Kansas. Douglas and Carrie, two tough cops, are trying to solve a murder with the mayor’s son as the main suspect, but they find themselves caught in a time loop. With an exceptional cast delivering outstanding performances, the show blends questionable metaphors, clever wordplay, and musical references, evoking laughter and surprises all the way to its absurdly grand finale.
