Under the baton of Jean-Christophe Monnier, the Orchestre d’harmonie de l’État de Genève (OHGe) presents a programme of French repertoire spanning lyrical charm and dramatic sweep. Cellist Lionel Cottet features as solo voice amidst lush wind textures, shifting between filigreed melodies and bold, cinematic gestures. From Delibes’ grace to Honegger’s modern intensity, Saint-Saëns and Berlioz’s orchestral colour, and Legrand’s evocative filmic idiom, the evening explores timbre, momentum and expressive contrasts that move from intimate lyricism to radiant climaxes.
The concert “Dans le vent des mondes” features Michel Tirabosco on the pan flute along with the Bella Terra Ensemble. With Sophie Tirabosco on guitar and vocals, Michèle Lubicz on the duduk, Nicolas Curti/Ted Beaubrun on percussion, David Perrenoud on bass guitar, Stéphane Mayer on piano, and Giacomo Grandi on cello, this performance offers a musical journey bridging the southern landscapes and vibrant gypsy rhythms.
Led by oud master Anouar Brahem, this quartet features Klaus Gesing (bass clarinet, saxophone), Björn Meyer (bass) and Khaled Yassine (darbouka, bendir). The programme weaves lyrical oud lines with chamber-like harmonic textures, where improvisation meets Western compositional harmony and refined Eastern modes. Sparse rhythmic pulses and warm low-register sonorities create a contemplative, meditative atmosphere, shifting into moments of lively interplay. The music invites close listening, revealing delicate timbres and subtle dynamic contrasts.
Goran Bregović leads his Orchestra in a jubilant sonic celebration that blends Balkan folk, Roma brass, Bulgarian choirs and pop. Known for the Wedding and Funeral Band, Bregović draws on his rock roots with Bijelo Dugme and his acclaimed film scores for Emir Kusturica to create music that is powerful, ecstatic and deeply moving. The performance moves between ritual and dance, mixing raucous brass with lyrical textures to create warmth, humor and communal intensity.
Led by conductor Natacha Casagrande, this programme brings together the refined textures of the Geneva Chamber Orchestra and four soloists — soprano Clémence Tilquin, alto Mi-Young Kim, tenor Erwan Fosset and baritone Seongho Han. The evening juxtaposes Saint-Saëns’s delicate La Lyre et la Harpe with Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, weaving luminous orchestral colour and intimate vocal lines. The performance favours clarity, warmth and a contemplative atmosphere that highlights the scores tenderness and quiet ritual.
The Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (OSR) hosts Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla for her Geneva debut, joined by pianist Georgijs Osokins. The event’s program includes “The Four Elements” by Frank Martin, Chopin’s “Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Minor,” Debussy’s “La Mer,” and Ravel’s Suite No. 2 from “Daphnis and Chloé.” This concert showcases the OSR’s essence through works that evoke nature, reflect its celebrated early recordings, and feature brilliant orchestral pieces.
