Under the baton of Antoine Marguier, the Orchestre des Nations marks its fifteenth anniversary in a program that juxtaposes Mozart’s crystalline lyricism with Shostakovich’s stormier drama. Pianist Matei Varga offers a poised, introspective account of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.20, while the orchestra moves through Shostakovich’s Fifth with tense rhythms and luminous orchestral colours. The evening traces a dramaturgy of light and shadow, inviting listeners into a tense, cathartic journey shaped by rigorous ensemble playing and concentrated emotional intensity.

The Orchestre des Nations celebrates its 15th anniversary with a performance of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21, featuring pianist Matei Varga under the baton of Antoine Marguier.

The Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, under the baton of Neeme Järvi, performs Brahms’ “Ein deutsches Requiem” featuring soprano Julie Fuchs, baritone Matthias Goerne, and the Zürcher Sing-Akademie. Composed in the wake of the deaths of Brahms’ mother and his friend Robert Schumann, this poignant work offers a universal message of comfort that transcends religious boundaries.

The Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, under the baton of Neeme Järvi, presents Brahms’ “Ein deutsches Requiem” with soprano Julie Fuchs, baritone Matthias Goerne, and the Zürcher Sing-Akademie. This powerful work marks the return of the former music director, often missing from the usual repertoire. Composed after personal losses, this Requiem offers solace to the living with its German biblical texts. It signifies an important milestone in Brahms’ artistic journey.

Led by conductor Laurent Zufferey, this gala illuminates the virtuosic voices of the laureates of the Geneva Junior Music Competition. Solo performances with the Sinfonia Valais‑Wallis move between intimate chamber colours and soaring, poetic climaxes. The programme balances technical brilliance with reflective lyricism, guided by the discerning presence of patron Stéphane Lambiel and a jury of Emmanuelle Bertrand, Svetlana Makarova, Raphaël Merlin and Christian Chamorel. The evening unfolds with concentrated intensity and radiant musical dialogue.
