Requiem Allemand

The Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, under the baton of Neeme Järvi, performs Brahms’ “Ein deutsches Requiem” featuring soprano Julie Fuchs, baritone Matthias Goerne, and the Zürcher Sing-Akademie. Composed in the wake of the deaths of Brahms’ mother and his friend Robert Schumann, this poignant work offers a universal message of comfort that transcends religious boundaries.

Jean-François now dreams of redemption by winning the prestigious local dance event, the Night Cup.

Rock on Stage Classic is an event offering musicians of all skill levels the chance to perform on stage, guided by André Schmid, the former lead singer of the Geneva band Ça va chier. Participants can perform solo, with their own accompanists, or be supported by a team of professional musicians.

18 – 23 November

In Un volcan silencieux, sociologist and director Diane Muller reconnects with ten former classmates from Dijon, all born in 1979. Through open interviews, she explores how gender, class, and societal expectations have shaped their lives — from romantic ideals to motherhood and solitude. On stage, their voices are transmitted live, creating a powerful, intimate portrait of a generation.

Co-produced with the Les Créatives festival, the piece blends sociology and theatre to map the invisible lines of social determinism.

Tuesday 18 November, 20:00

The Lausanne Symphonic and University Orchestra (OSUL) teams up with the Pro Arte Choirs of Lausanne and the Chamber Choir of the University of Fribourg to perform Verdi’s Requiem, led by Hervé Klopfenstein. This masterpiece blends religious and operatic elements, delving into themes of mortality and salvation with grand choral sections, exceptional soloists, and a stunning orchestra. Renowned segments, such as the “Dies Irae,” captivate with their expressive intensity and power.

17 & 18 November, 19:30

Created by visionary choreographer Mourad Merzouki, this show reimagines the iconic Boxe Boxe by Compagnie Käfig and the Debussy Quartet. It explores the connections between dance, boxing, and classical music, infused with the vibrant energy of Brazil. The result is a unique stage experience blending hip-hop dance, boxing movements, and classical music enriched by Carioca influences.

The musical score, reworked with the Debussy Quartet, supports this bold fusion. A true choreographic challenge, the performance celebrates dance’s power to transcend genres with infectious energy and boundless creativity. Let the celebration begin!
