Jonathan Dove’s opera adapts the tales The Enchanted Pig and The Brown Bear of Norway into a tender, witty musical fable. Le Cochon enchanté is an opera by Jonathan Dove, directed by Joan Mompart. The staging mixes catchy melodies, theatrical choreography and playful visual detail to invite audiences of all ages into a vivid, emotional musical comedy.

Matthews and his ensemble interrogate law, money and the idea of progress while pushing the limits of the stage into saloons, robberies, a mock funeral, shadow‑theatre train sequences and breathless chases. The production blends physical theatre, visual invention and comic timing to deliver an irreverent, spirited exploration of community and territory.
