Geneva Lux stages a luminous parcours through the city centre and Old Town of Geneva, presenting for over twelve years an evening programme of light installations and live performances. Around twenty works transform public streets and historic architecture into immersive, often poetic environments. The festival foregrounds sensory and spatial experience, exploring how light reconfigures perception of urban space and winter, and how temporary interventions reveal layers of memory, intimacy and collective circulation in the nocturnal city.

Programming mixes renowned and emerging artists across music, performance and visual projects, revealing unexpected sites and blending disciplines. The festival foregrounds diversity and social engagement, bringing together varied audiences through bold curations. Lighting, sound and staging often shape intimate, cinematic atmospheres, while collaborative projects emphasize discovery, collective energy and the thrill of shared, ephemeral encounters.
Françoise Boillat brings Antigone to life in an outdoor performance set against the backdrop of seven “remarkable trees” each month. This unique production weaves Antigone’s defiance of political authority with her devotion to the gods. The ancient trees stand as silent witnesses to the enduring human struggles between law, nature, and freedom.
