Beyond the Gaze

A descriptive and sensory visit to the exhibition “Fuite au Marché Machin” with Benoît Billotte opens the experience to blind and visually impaired visitors as well as the wider public. The format invites participants to encounter the work through voice, touch and attentive listening, shifting emphasis from sight to embodied perception. Framed by an ephemeral collective of illustrators and invited artists, the exhibition extends across the villa’s salons and upper floors, revealing how illustration can be reimagined through accessibility, collaboration and shared sensory exploration.

17 September – 13 December

Curators Ghalas Charara and Rita Elhajj present the second part of a two‑part exhibition that shapes a liminal space between listening and gesture. Through acts of defunctionalization, duplication, displacement, fragmentation and sabotage, the participating artists generate potentials for action and reclaim rhythmic breaths, steps and voices. Works from the host collection sit alongside invited pieces to evoke survivance, mourning and resistance, where memory becomes an embrace enacted by bodies searching for—sometimes finding—ancestral gestures through repetition, dance and semantic shifts.

More a time capsule than a traditional museum. Step into Countess Zoubov’s elegant 18th-century world, where furniture, paintings, porcelain, and decorative arts remain arranged much as she intended in the 1950s. Among the 525 recorded pieces are numerous objects connected to Catherine II’s Russia.

8 September – 18 December

Curated by the University of Geneva, the exhibition traces the journey of a grain of sand from extraction to its role in contemporary urban construction. Through research-driven installations and documentary displays, it examines extraction, global logistics, and the environmental and social impacts of sand mining. The show juxtaposes scarred landscapes and fragile ecosystems with the material demands of concrete and infrastructure, prompting reflection on alternative materials, reuse practices and how cities might be reimagined for genuine sustainability.

6 November – 18 December

Bre Andy presents a new series of paintings in her first solo exhibition at the gallery. Drawing on photographs of her surroundings and her journal, she depicts intimate scenes of women and friends in domestic interiors and natural settings. The works consider inner and outer presence, the body, memory, and the ways space shapes visibility and expression. Through these personal images, Andy explores how lived environments inform relationships and self-presentation.
