Tiwayo returns with Outsider, an intimate yet expansive soul album produced by Adrián Quesada. Fronting his full band, the Parisian singer-songwriter—nicknamed “The Young Old” for his timeless voice—moves between southern soul, blues and travel-worn melodies. Directed by Alexander Zeldin, The Other Place is a contemporary reading of Antigone that carves a tragic family drama out of everyday life. On the anniversary of their father’s death, two estranged sisters confront memories, renovation works and an uncle determined to move on. With Jerry Killick among the cast and a strikingly realistic scenography, the production exposes hidden violences, irreconcilable trajectories and raw emotional fractures in a finely observed, tense staging.

Directed by Gabriel Álvarez, Le Repas revives two flagship pieces from his company’s repertoire for the 40th anniversary of Studio d’Action Théâtrale and pays homage to playwright Valère Novarina. A cosmogonic feast staged with the audience at table, the performance devours the world through ritual, poetry and corporeal presence. It examines human voracity, collective memory and the fate of what we ingest, offering a sensorial, intimate and occasionally brutal theatrical journey.

Scène Vagabonde’s seventh edition brings a compact program of contemporary theatre and music, presenting three contrasting stage works — “Par le bout du nez”, “Quadrille” and “Prima facie” — alongside a concert by Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp as part of La Bâtie-Festival de Genève. Across intimate stagings the festival favors inventive direction, close ensemble interplay and a balance of wit and intensity, offering encounters that privilege physical presence, tonal variety and rigorous dramaturgy.

Two short plays by Anton Chekhov staged by Tibor Ockenfels and Flavie Tapparel, presented as compact dramatic machines where romantic comedy masks escalating confrontations between desire, affection and material interest. Performances rely on precise physical timing, terse exchanges and a lean, playful design to reveal the simmering violence behind courtship rituals. The three actors — Estelle Bridet, Matteo Prandi and Raphaël Vachoux — inhabit heightened character types that shift between farce and darker comic truth, creating a sharply observed, kinetic evening.

Led by the vocal partnership of soprano Valérie Vianin Bonzon and tenor Jesse Concha, with pianist Sebastián Guinta, this recital juxtaposes intimate Romantic lieder and verismo arias by Schumann and Puccini. The singers inhabit contrasting personas, weaving fragile lyricism with dramatic intensity, while the piano provides shimmering textures and bold climaxes. Illuminated by attentive phrasing and close musical dialogue, the programme invites a contemplative, emotionally charged listening experience that moves between tenderness and passion.
