Our eyes are naturally drawn to light and what shines. Yet what could be more fascinating than shadow? Shadows have enabled many fundamental discoveries: the shape of the Earth, the calculation of its circumference, the identification of electrons, and the understanding of planetary motion. They accompany us and enrich our thinking. Come and explore them to learn more about their role in science.

Exhibition in French & in English.

23 September – 11 October

Swiss artist Andreas Kressig presents Station 505, a temporary sculpture-pavilion conceived as an architectural and sensory intervention. Built in relation to an existing fountain, the work paradoxically conceals and reveals water while offering both an exterior sculpture to contemplate and an interior space to inhabit. Through material presence and spatial thresholds it interrogates public versus private realms. The project is activated by shared moments with the artist centred on a communal tea service and reflections on its diverse cultural interpretations.

Opening: 23 September, 17:00

1 October – 21 January

Ferdinand Hodler’s work is presented as a modern spiritual quest, bringing together paintings, drawings and archival documents.
From early religious scenes informed by Protestant iconography to late Symbolist compositions, his canvases and studies explore unity between humans, nature and a universal harmony of forms. The exhibition emphasizes Hodler’s pictorial language—rhythmic figuration, landscape as moral presence and meditative repetition—revealing an inward, contemplative dimension in which body and rhythm function as vehicles for spiritual experience. Curated by Niklaus Manuel Güdel.

1 – 4 October

Geneva-based artist Nicolas Noverraz presents the initial outcomes of an artistic investigation into memory, wartime violence and the transmission of familial trauma. The works—printed in typographic workshops and then screen-printed—combine printed multiples with archival fragments, photographs, letters and personal narratives.
Through layered images and text, the project traces how a tragic event from the Second World War reverberates across generations, questioning how trauma is recorded, inherited and reimagined.

17 September – 7 November

An exhibition presenting work by Garry Fabian Miller, Ptolemy Mann and Marit Tingleff, curated by Sarah Griffin. Across photography, weaving and ceramics, the show explores the darkroom, the dye lab and the kiln as sites of material transformation. The artists draw on deep embodied knowledge and long practice, using process, environment and material behaviour to shape outcomes. The works probe attention to texture, colour and time, revealing subtle relations between technique and the natural conditions that inform each practice.

Opening: Thursday 17 September, 18:00

27 August – 15 November

Antoine Roth presents a photography exhibition focused on atmospheric and optical phenomena observed over Lake Geneva. Working with a digital camera and a long‑focal lens, he photographs distant horizons where light, water and air converge. The series documents rare mirages, notably the Fata Morgana, exploring the boundary between perceptual illusion and measurable physical event. Through patient field observation and precise framing, Roth examines how light and thermal gradients sculpt landscape appearances and challenge our sense of materiality.

Opening: 27 August, 18:00
