Three organ recitals offering intimate portraits of the instrument through contrasting programmes by Damien Desbenoit, Stéphane Mottoul and Jan Lehtola. Each recital balances baroque, romantic and contemporary repertoire, emphasizing registration, timbral contrasts and the acoustic dialogue between instrument and space. Choreographer Katerina Andreou stages a raw, physical dance work that propels fourteen performers from the Norwegian company Carte Blanche into an endurance-like marathon. Drawing on the dance marathons of the Great Depression, the piece explores desire, fatigue, power and the human need for connection as bodies cling, push and exhaust themselves within a hypnotic pulse. Between collective trance, biting irony and uncontrollable vitality, the choreography stages the tension between chaos and control and our fascination with performance and intimacy.

Scène Vagabonde’s seventh edition brings a compact program of contemporary theatre and music, presenting three contrasting stage works — “Par le bout du nez”, “Quadrille” and “Prima facie” — alongside a concert by Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp as part of La Bâtie-Festival de Genève. Across intimate stagings the festival favors inventive direction, close ensemble interplay and a balance of wit and intensity, offering encounters that privilege physical presence, tonal variety and rigorous dramaturgy.
Otis Thaïs Martin performs a solo trapeze piece that turns acrobatic balance into a metaphor for living with anxiety. On a rigging that oscillates and resists, Martin mixes aerial performance, spoken testimony and musical improvisation by Camille Garcia‑Rennes to explore exhaustion, survival strategies and the tenderness of queer kinship. Formerly associated with L’Abri, the artist transforms the stage into a political space for collective care and witness, crafting moments of tension that open onto surprising tenderness and fragile joy.

Directed by Aurélia Lüscher, Au Grand Passage stages a tender and questioning dialogue with her paternal grandmother and the spectral traces that linger among the living. Combining documentary inquiry and poetic dramaturgy, Lüscher conjures the voices of those who engage with the beyond amid a wax and mist décor that blurs visible and invisible. Drawing on readings like Magali Molinié and Vinciane Despret, the piece explores what cannot be resolved, using theatre’s spectral dimension to imagine passage between forms.

Vocalist Nina Baietta and electronic artist Serøja Leonov create Other Speaking Cave, a hybrid performance that blurs organic voice and mirrored electronics. Between guttural vocal textures and shifting electronic mirages, the piece unfolds as an archaeological imagining of the future where the biological meets the machine. In a dim, cavernous mise-en-scène pierced by neon, light behaves like a living organism that pulses and reacts to sound. Created for Festival de la Bâtie 2026 in coproduction with a Geneva partner.
