Directed, written and performed by Rébecca Chaillon, La Parabole du Seum unfolds as a contemporary tale inspired by Seine‑Saint‑Denis, Martinique and New Orleans. The piece blends fiction, narration and hybrid beliefs, using ritual and performative gestures as tools of survival and resistance for minoritised communities. On stage, Chaillon invents utopian spaces to forge new myths and imagine possible futures, combining intimate storytelling with powerful collective imagery.

Spiritual jazz pianist, improviser and musicologist Nduduzo Makhathini channels African spiritual traditions into a deeply immersive sonic ritual. Drawing on his Blue Note recordings and collaborations with figures such as Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, his repertoire — including the album uNomkhubulwane — weaves improvisation, ancestral cosmologies and the ritual power of sound into expansive, trance-like passages. The performance privileges intuition and communal resonance, inviting listeners into a liberating, meditative listening experience.
Curated by the Summer Concerts Association and its artistic committee, this series offers an hour of chamber music that ranges from intimate solo recitals to richly textured ensemble programmes. Repertoire spans classical chamber works with thoughtful programming that highlights timbre, phrasing and quiet dynamic arcs. The performances favour close listening and meditative atmospheres, where delicate sonorities and careful lighting shape intimate moments and gradual emotional transitions, inviting reflection and a sense of calm.
Bellerive Festival presents a programme of chamber and orchestral music exploring repertoire from Classical to late Romantic and early 20th-century voices. Evenings feature works by Beethoven, Dvořák, Schubert, Mahler and Mendelssohn alongside evocative programmes centred on Grieg, Tchaikovsky and American classics. A New York-themed matinée offers lighter, rhythmic contrasts. A concurrent photographic exhibition by Michel Juvet creates a visual dialogue with the music. The festival highlights refined ensemble playing, expressive phrasing and an intimate atmosphere.
Quatuor Ardeo — whose name means “I burn” — brings together four committed musicians known for vivid collective playing and an intense ensemble spirit. Joined by Pascal Moraguès, principal clarinet of the Orchestre de Paris, the group’s timbre acquires a new colour and breathing space. The programme moves from Borodin’s Nocturne through Mendelssohn’s Quartet No. 4 to Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet, unfolding dialogues of luminous clarity, intimate conversation and expressive warmth.
Co-created by Primala Casse, La Cantine de Nasreddine stages a mobile kitchen as a theatrical set where cooking and storytelling intertwine. Three performers — Sophie Lebrun, Redwan Reys and Atakan Tan — inhabit new incarnations of Nasreddine Hodja, turning everyday situations into unexpected twists that reveal quiet wisdom. Vicky Althaus’s lighting and an intimate, communal mise en scène frame moments of humour, ritual and shared eating, inviting audiences into a warm, inventive collective experience.
