La Migration des cœurs

Booking Required

Adapted freely from Maryse Condé and Emily Brontë, this theatrical adaptation follows Razyé and Cathy across three generations in a post-emancipation Guadeloupe. Directed by Anne Monfort, the production probes themes of racism, passion, pride, social violence, vengeance and fatalism through a visceral, rhythmic staging. The ensemble uses sparse, evocative design and intense physical interplay to reveal how inherited trauma shapes desire and retribution.

Jeremy Ratib performs material from his album Backlot Country, a hazy window onto an adolescence in Los Angeles where Halloween spectres, bushfires that redden Pacific sunsets and empty pools echo post‑Y2K nostalgia amid kickflip cadences. Rooted in folk songwriting, the music unfolds as homemade psychedelic country‑rock emo, intimate and evocative. Ratib is joined by Valentin Liechti (drums, vocals), Robin Girod (bass, guitar, vocals), Flavie Ndam (saxophone, vocals), Lorraine Dinkel (guitar, vocals) and Lucas Churet (sound).
