Little Stories from the Observatory

Wander through the rooms as artworks begin to tell their own stories. Listen to soft whispers, spot bright colors and curious shapes, and follow tiny clues hidden in paintings and sculptures. Children will imagine characters, ask questions, and share discoveries with family. The activity invites close looking, gentle movement, and playful storytelling that sparks curiosity and creativity. Sounds, textures and colors guide the journey.

The Biopark is temporarily hosting Janus, a unique two-headed Greek tortoise, during the renovation of the Museum. Each head of this male tortoise has its own independent brain, which sometimes makes its movements challenging. In captivity, Janus receives attentive care, resulting in an impressive lifespan of 26 years.

Family visit to discover a facet of the rich collections of the Musée d’ethnographie de Genève, exploring both the library and the temporary exhibition. Imagine: if you were a king or queen, what would you change? After observing an element of the exhibition, we will listen to stories of African rulers who sought to transform their world, along with music from the MEG’s collection.

Wednesday 17 June, 14:00

Join an architecture workshop where children discover the city in playful ways. Through drawing, building and observation, young participants explore shapes, materials and urban spaces. Hands-on projects encourage creativity, problem-solving and teamwork as kids design small models and imagine future streets. The session mixes outdoor observation and studio construction to spark curiosity and a sense of belonging in the urban landscape.

Saturday 20 June, 09:30

Grab your binoculars and picnic and explore slippery, sun-warmed rocks in search of scaly friends. Walk quietly to spot lizards basking, snakes slipping through grass, or maybe a turtle at the water’s edge. Listen to bird calls, feel the heat on stones, and sketch or describe what you see. Learn simple facts about how these reptiles live, move, and hide while using your eyes and curiosity.

Tuesday 23 June, 18:30

Follow Zuza, a bold little girl whose everyday moments swell into grand adventures: she eats while flying, grows larger than the planet when angry, and finds a loyal crocodile companion. The itinerant show mixes short tales and a parade using giant, human-size and miniature puppets, low-tech screen effects and masked dance. Playful and richly imagined, it invites families to move with the story and share moments of wonder and emotion.

28 January – 8 July

Creative workshops for children where they learn to make natural cosmetics—like fruity soaps and lip balms—using healthy, eco-friendly ingredients. These fun, hands-on sessions raise kids’ awareness of nature and ecology while letting them proudly take home their handmade creations.
