Explorer-researcher Christian Clot, founder of the Human Adaptation Institute and specialist in adaptive cognition, and philosopher Dominique Bourg, professor at the University of Lausanne, bring together artists, designers and researchers.

This day-long series examines the living through a Deep Time expedition, artistic and scientific dialogues, and panels on ecological and systemic thinking. Sessions explore creation, interdisciplinary germination and anticipatory adaptation, investigating how art, science and design open new ways to understand and transform our relationship with the living world.

Les Ateliers Acrylique are a theatrical school that celebrates the strength of group work and the intensity of stage experience. The workshops present performances written especially for participants — children, teenagers and adults — and are led by professional artists. Creators involved include Nathalie Jaggi, Delphine Demeure, Lua Gomes, Léa Ines Batoua, Evelyne Castellino, Basile Campanelli and Luca Léone. The programme emphasises collective creation, practical stage skills and ensemble dynamics.

Silvia Hopenhayn, Argentine writer and cultural journalist, offers close readings of Jorge Luis Borges’s fiction and its formal strategies, drawing on her experience with Latin American literature and criticism.

She examines Borges’s short stories, focusing on character creation, paradoxes, enumerations and rhetorical devices, and argues that these brief narratives act as inventive gestures. The session explores figures like Pierre Menard, Funes and Emma Zunz and investigates how form and erudition reveal singular subjectivities.

20 April – 7 June

Designed for emerging professionals and recent graduates, this workshop explores puppetry through the creation of a short performance. Four to five young artists are supported through a guided process from idea to stage, with mentorship in direction, dramaturgy and construction. Participants develop a compact work presented at a public work-in-progress showcase. The programme also offers the chance to win a fully funded four-week training placement in 2027 at Odradek, near Toulouse.

Nicolas Freyre, head gardener, oversees the garden’s living and preserved plant collections and collaborates with scientific teams on conservation and research.

This presentation examines the institution’s mission, activities, and research-driven conservation practices, highlighting a herbarium of over six million specimens, a comprehensive botanical library, and a living collection of more than 11,000 species, many rare or endangered. It explores how curated collections inform biodiversity knowledge and preservation strategies.
