What a Cheeky Cuckoo!

Join a hands-on parent-child workshop inspired by the picture book “Quel coquin ce coucou!” by Noémie Pétremand and Adrienne Barman. After a short story-time, children will explore Adrienne Barman’s graphic world by cutting, assembling and composing with shapes, contrasts and rhythms. Families create playful black-and-white collages, experimenting with texture and movement while developing fine motor skills and visual language.

The Biopark is temporarily hosting Janus, a unique two-headed Greek tortoise, during the renovation of the Museum. Each head of this male tortoise has its own independent brain, which sometimes makes its movements challenging. In captivity, Janus receives attentive care, resulting in an impressive lifespan of 26 years.

8 July – 13 September

Jump into a cozy creative space where tiny hands make colorful shapes and soft sounds fill the air. Inspired by museum artworks, children and their adults will explore textures, colors, and gentle movements through play, stories, and simple crafts. Little ones will experiment with finger paints, fabrics, and instruments, discovering how art can feel and sound. This immersive, multisensory moment encourages curiosity, sensory play, and bonding between child and grown-up.

Step close to a sculpture by Alexandre Joly and listen as storytellers Joëlle Flumet and Camille Lacroix bring “The Guardian” to life. Hear short tales that ask who watches whom and what it means to protect or possess. Children will touch ideas of weight and wind, imagine stone blocks and soaring color, and answer playful questions about lifeguards and borders. Then everyone builds a bright kite, feeling fabric and string and watching it dance in the breeze.

Saturday 15 August, 09:00

Join artist Matthieu Grillet for creative neighborhood walks and hands-on workshops. Explore streets with cameras and words, sketch corners, and build colorful maps from photos, drawings and shared memories. Collect leaves and press them into a small herbarium. Bring a personal object to tell a story for a community mini-museum. Expect lively sounds, bright colors and playful collaboration that sparks curiosity and creative thinking.

Wednesday 19 August, 14:00

Play with beats and sounds in a hands-on mini workshop. Under guidance, kids use a computer, sound card and a synth to explore electronic timbres, rhythms and textures. They learn simple tools, experiment with effects, and build a short piece in just a few minutes. Expect bright clicks, deep bass pulses and lively loops that you can tweak and share. The session encourages listening, creativity and confidence with music technology.
