A Feldenkrais practitioner and a cultural mediator lead this session, combining somatic practice with museum mediation. They bring practical experience in movement education and public engagement to guide participants through embodied encounters with the collection.

This guided visit investigates the permanent archaeology collection through the Feldenkrais method, a kinesthetic approach that sharpens awareness of body and space. The session examines how posture, perception and movement reveal new relations to objects, exploring themes of embodiment, sensory interpretation and the role of bodily experience in understanding material culture.

The activity examines themes such as habitat restoration, species-friendly practices, urban greening and policy responses, helping participants understand the impact and rationale behind everyday and organisational conservation choices.

This workshop explores the traditional process of assembling a herbarium specimen, inspired by Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s collections. Participants learn scientific techniques for pressing and mounting dried plants on old paper, practice botanical labelling and nomenclature, and select specimens to create a personal herbarium sheet. The session examines preservation methods, identification principles and the historical context of Rousseau’s approach, combining practical skills with scientific insight to produce a lasting botanical object.

Eben Kirksey, Professor of Anthropology at the University of Oxford, is known for multispecies ethnography and research on human and nonhuman relations.

He examines how death circulates nutrients across microbial, plant, fungal and animal communities, and how modern mortuary and biomedical practices intervene in regenerative cycles. Using artworks as prompts, the talk investigates responsibility in life and death, exploring ethical, ecological and scientific tensions that reshape multispecies connections.

Leonor Cuahonte holds a doctorate in art history from the Sorbonne and is a specialist in modern and contemporary Mexican architecture. She is a curator and independent researcher with international teaching experience.

This lecture examines the pioneering work of Matisse, Mondrian and Magritte, exploring how their experiments with form, color and abstraction reshaped modern art. Cuahonte investigates key artworks and themes, discusses cross-currents between European movements, and reveals why these innovations continue to influence artistic practice and visual perception.

Book launch and presentation of Season of Wolves, the final monograph by Professor Mohammad‑Mahmoud Ould Mohamedou, completed after his passing in 2024 by his PhD students, former students and family. The presentation examines the book’s historical analysis of the post‑9/11 world, its key arguments and contributions to contemporary international history. Contributors include Marie‑Laure Salles, Davide Rodogno, Bahiya and Kemal Mohamedou, along with Geneva Graduate Institute students and alumni.
