Forms of the Never Was

In “Forms of the Never Was,” Matthew Harris and Patrick Loughran combine their distinct practices of textiles and ceramics to create innovative forms. Harris layers textile compositions through painted and stitched fabrics, while Loughran crafts contemporary ceramic shapes. Together, they explore form, movement, and abstraction, unfolding a surprising universe of new forms.

The exhibition at Château de Prangins transports us to the golden age of elite exploration journeys from 1869 to 1914. Through the perspectives of Swiss globetrotters like Alfred Bertrand and Emilio Balli, it traces the advent of early tourist circuits in a seven-stage experience that feels straight out of a Jules Verne novel.

23 June – 28 September

The UNIGE exhibition offers an immersive journey into the heart of volcanoes, blending science with stories and myths. Captivated by their power and majesty, humans have always endeavored to understand and narrate the mysteries of volcanoes. The exhibition delves into how they work, the force of eruptions, eruption forecasting, and the sharing of knowledge. It invites visitors to touch, experiment, and listen to grasp the dual nature of volcanoes, balancing danger with their bountiful offerings.

20 May – 1 October

A fascinating off-site exhibition by the Martin Bodmer Foundation traces the evolving history of medicine through 15 striking plates from rare texts. Curated by Jacques Berchtold and Yoann Givry, this journey through centuries of scientific thought is hosted at the University of Geneva’s Medical Center and enriched with QR-coded commentaries.

Enjoy an engaging guided tour that explores the intriguing parallels between football and Protestantism, tackling some unusual questions along the way.
