Nuit des Bains — Tabarak Allah Abbas / Roman Selim Khereddine

Presented as part of a nocturnal programme, this double screening gathers the recent films of Tabarak Allah Abbas and Roman Selim Khereddine. Tabarak’s shorts (Un Papillon; Mawtini) use intimate, observational frames to probe belonging and exile, blending delicate portraiture with moments of rupture. Khereddine’s works (Gotham Stakes; Time‑Eater) move between documentary and speculative registers, exploring human–animal relations and the mise en scène of the horse‑racing industry. The programme privileges tactile imagery, restrained soundscapes and empathetic attention to social worlds.

Mitchell Anderson presents a new edition and bodies of work examining the legacy of post‑war astronautics. Drawing on graphite relics from a V‑2 rocket, children’s drawings and mural motifs, the exhibition stages colour‑in pages alongside wall drawings and hybrid objects that hover between craft and ready‑made. Mixed‑media pieces employ encaustic, embroidery and hand‑written texts to interrogate the rocket as an icon that condenses both promise and violence, situating technological histories within intimate material registers.

Mitchell Anderson (1985) presents a new edition alongside recent works exploring the legacy of postwar rocketry. Drawing on graphite relics from a WWII V-2 rocket — the technological precursor to modern spaceflight — the exhibition features coloring-book pages derived from children’s rocket drawings, displayed alongside large wall drawings tracing launch trajectories and objects at the crossroads of craft and ready-made. Through these works, the rocket emerges as a contemporary global icon, embodying both promise and violence, and reflecting the anxieties, fantasies, and contradictions that shape our visions of the future.

Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s herbarium, compiled in the 1770s for the printer-bookseller Charles-Joseph Panckoucke, is presented through preserved pressed specimens, its original catalogue and related botanical publications. The historical collection combines scientific observation and aesthetic arrangement, revealing Enlightenment approaches to collecting, classification and the popularisation of plant study. Detailed notes and annotations illuminate Rousseau’s techniques and the materiality of specimens, inviting reflection on how personal curiosity and scholarly networks shaped early modern natural history.

May 1972 is an exhibition dedicated to Salvatore Emblema (Naples, 1929–2006), bringing together works produced between the late 1960s and the early 1980s. Across paintings, sculptures and installations, Emblema refines a conceptual language that interrogates materiality, form and temporality. The presentation highlights his experimental use of found materials, assemblage and reductive gestures, situating these works within postwar Italian avant‑garde practices and the artist’s evolving exploration of spatial and epistemic limits.
