MAMCO x SaSA x Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige

Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige present a site-specific project that juxtaposes archaeology, image and temporality. The presentation brings together works such as Palimpsests, Time Capsules and Trilogies, ranging from installations to photographic and film-based pieces. Working with archaeologists and adopting geological methods, the artists probe subterranean messages, historical ruptures and continuities, and the human and climatic forces that shape possible narratives. The exhibition foregrounds layered temporality and the politics of memory.

Students from the schools of Meyrin-Village, Bellavista, Champs-Fréchets, Boudines, De-Livron and Cointrin present collective visual work created for the 30th anniversary of the forum. Inspired by Nicolas Faure’s 1995 portrait series Meyrin, citoyens du monde, the works revisit civic identity through portraits, self-portraits and imagined futures. Guided by visual-arts teachers, roughly six hundred pupils contribute a wide range of approaches and materials that explore memory, community and the evolution of the cité.

20 May – 4 July

Physis presents a two-person dialogue between sculptor Ernst Gamperl and the drawing practice of Shunshun. Gamperl’s internationally recognised sculptures, rooted in exceptional woodwork, explore growth, material presence and a generative life force. Shunshun’s delicate, layered line drawings shift from architectural training to intimate studies of spatial depth and quiet emotional resonance. Together the works consider intergenerational perspectives on form, technique and the elemental meanings of nature.

Opening: Wednesday 20 May, 17:00

3 – 14 June

Ana Carolina Sargenti presents drawings, paintings and sculptural elements that examine the processes used to identify people who disappeared during Argentina’s last dictatorship.

Using charcoal portraiture, engraved layers of earth, watercolour impressions and plaster forms, her practice navigates appearance and erasure. Works range from material excavations to subtle removals of surface—charcoal portraits created by subtracting from black reserves, and landscapes shaped from layered earth—probing memory, territory, disappearance and the reconstruction of collective traces.

27 May – 14 June

PIPAS 2026 – Trouble-accueil is a playful, slightly subversive entry in the PIPAS biennale curated by Paul Oberson. It unfolds as a series of unexpected encounters and atmospheric interventions that tilt everyday hospitality into moments of disorientation and delight. The piece invites visitors to reconsider welcome, movement and the social choreography of shared spaces through visual, auditory and performative gestures. Expect a curious, tactile experience that favors surprise, thoughtful mischief and sensory discovery.

21 May – 26 June

Tomorrow Comes Today presents a carefully curated exhibition of contemporary visual work that interrogates temporality and the persistence of memory. Through painting, installation, photography and mixed-media practice, the show examines how everyday objects and fleeting moments accumulate meaning. The works employ layered surfaces, found materials and projected imagery to collapse past and future, inviting sustained attention to material process and embodied perception.

3 – 14 June

In Traversée, Clothilde Gosset invites viewers into a poetic journey through movement, memory, and transformation. Through delicate installations and immersive visual compositions, the exhibition explores the idea of passage — between spaces, emotions, and states of being. Blending organic materials, light, and subtle textures, Gosset creates contemplative environments that evoke both inner landscapes and physical crossings. Her work encourages a slow and sensitive experience, where fragility, silence, and perception become central elements of the encounter.
