Hoops of Iron company delivers a contemporary production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, set against a backdrop of misinformation and authoritarianism. Featuring a cast of 20 actors and an original score by Thomas Bingham, this bilingual version presents a raw and modern interpretation of the classic tragedy centered on the thirst for power.

For the season’s first apéro ballet, the Japanese musicians of “Bal impérial”—Tsubasa Hori, Shogo Yoshii, and Kazutomi “Tsuki”—showcase their collaboration with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and dancer Riley O’Flynn. The event takes place at the Foyer of the Grand Théâtre de Genève.

Universal Sounds presents Chantress Seba live at the Alhambra. Known for her ethereal and powerful vocals, she delivers a transformative musical experience. Accompanied by the melodies of Gemini and Finn, she crafts an atmosphere of deep remembrance and divine connection. This concert, a fusion of music, intention, and unity, invites a collective prayer for healing.
The Byron Quartet and Matteo Mela present “Souvenir d’Espagne,” a concert showcasing works inspired by Spanish music. The program includes Turina’s “Oración del torero” and “Serenata”, Boccherini’s renowned “Fandango”, and Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Quintet with its “Souvenir d’Espagne” movement. These pieces, infused with influences from Haydn, d’Indy, Franck, Debussy, Schubert, Ravel, Andalusian music, and flamenco, beautifully capture the spirit of the guitar.
At La Parfumerie, Serge Martin presents a unique dialogue between Diogenes and the Joker. Diogenes, sometimes appearing as a hologram, highlights life’s essentials while the Joker entertains the audience. Together, they critique modern cynicism and assert that life should overcome. This subversive and humorous performance explores themes such as simplicity, sexual freedom, gender equality, pacifism, and the rejection of money. Featuring José Lillo and Serge Martin on stage, the production uses holograms and meticulous staging to create an immersive experience.
