La Bâtie Festival: Living Smile Vidya

Living Smile Vidya is an Indian transgender actress, writer, and activist who has been a refugee in Switzerland since 2018. Her solo show, named after herself, humorously and powerfully chronicles her journey as a trans and Dalit woman, an exiled artist, and a fighter for a dignified and free life. In India, she dreamed of living without oppression, while in Switzerland she faces the invisibility of refugees. Through dance, song, and projection, she shares her story in an intimate and direct performance that is at times tough but also tender, filled with sincerity and boldness.
