While in her cell, Chess uses singing as a means to escape reality, reflecting on her past, her crime, and her daughter. After Serena is released, Chess is left alone but finds solace and liberation through music composition, guided by Silver, a producer who conducts workshops in the prison. This narrative acts as a liberating incantation against isolation and confinement.

Their son Alexandre, along with Dimitar Gougov and Ion Miu, honors this legacy through a blend of traditional styles and original compositions. The event is organized by the Ateliers d’ethnomusicologie and AMR, with support from the City of Geneva and the South Cultural Fund.
