The orchestra will perform evocative soundscapes from Iceland and England, conducted by Eva Ollikainen with cellist Kian Soltani. The program features “Archora” by Anna Thorvaldsdóttir, Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto, and Jean Sibelius’s Symphony No. 2. The Stemma duo, Herdís Anna Jónsdóttir and Steef van Oosterhout, will present Icelandic folk music performances both pre- and post-concert. Actor Samuel Labarthe turns Nicolas Bouvier’s fever-drenched memoir The Scorpion-Fish into a hypnotic, miniaturist tour de force: marooned in 1950s Ceylon after a headlong road trip from Geneva through the Balkans and Afghanistan, the once-ebullient traveller spirals into tropical delirium, trading human company for buzzing insects, mirage-bright visions and mordant humour that flits between the sublime and the grotesque. Under Catherine Schaub’s finely gauged direction, Labarthe channels both the lush lyricism and the slow-burn torment of this “motionless voyage,” distilling Bouvier’s languid prose into a tactile, rejuvenating elixir that lets the audience feel every bead of sweat, jolt of wonder and sting of isolation.

The Festival Les Créatives, a multidisciplinary event in Geneva, highlights the artistic and intellectual works of women and gender minorities. The 21st edition features concerts, theater, exhibitions, and discussions on topics such as chosen families and friendships. Notable participants include Hélène Giannecchini, Sophie Lewis, and Chloé Delaume. The festival reaffirms its commitment to combatting gender-based violence, working with the Canton and City of Geneva on local awareness campaigns.
Rock on Stage Classic is an event offering musicians of all skill levels the chance to perform on stage, guided by André Schmid, the former lead singer of the Geneva band Ça va chier. Participants can perform solo, with their own accompanists, or be supported by a team of professional musicians.
In Un volcan silencieux, sociologist and director Diane Muller reconnects with ten former classmates from Dijon, all born in 1979. Through open interviews, she explores how gender, class, and societal expectations have shaped their lives — from romantic ideals to motherhood and solitude. On stage, their voices are transmitted live, creating a powerful, intimate portrait of a generation.
Co-produced with the Les Créatives festival, the piece blends sociology and theatre to map the invisible lines of social determinism.

“To Hell with War!” is a satirical parody of “Ubu Roi” by the Studio d’Action Théâtrale, under the direction of Gabriel Alvarez. Drawing inspiration from Jarry, the performance condemns war as a grotesque and tragic charade. Actors portray absurd characters that lay bare the senselessness and brutality of conflict, staging a macabre dance against destructive capitalism.
