Laure Adler, renowned writer and editor, meets with judicial columnist Julie Brafman, winner of the Prix Albert Londres. Brafman presents her essay Yann dans la nuit, devoted to Yann Andréa, the last companion of Marguerite Duras. The conversation examines the construction of literary portraiture, intimate relationships to subjects and the ethical stakes of testimony. It investigates memory, writing and the representation of exceptional women through close questioning and critical reflection.

Serge Bimpage will lead the reading and discussion, facilitating audience exchange and textual analysis around Alain Renoult’s prose and themes.

The novel tells of a mother who abandons her child and flees beyond time; the child, left alone in the apartment, sustains an interior monologue that seeks reassurance and imagines the worst. The session examines themes of abandonment, temporality, trauma and narrative voice, and investigates how language conveys psychological depth.

Nicolas Thiry, MA (University of Geneva), specializes in the early phase of the Wars of Religion with a focus on Béarn and Navarre in the sixteenth century. He teaches secondary school and works as a cultural mediator.

This lecture examines Jean Morély’s challenge to Calvinist discipline, exploring his advocacy for more democratic church governance and active lay participation. It investigates why Jeanne d’Albret granted him a platform and how his ideas threatened to split the French-speaking Reformation, revealing tensions between authority and popular religious practice.

Our Biodiversity: Memory game

This interactive memory challenge invites participants to test their memory while exploring practical ways to preserve biodiversity based on Geneva’s municipal strategy. Players match “before-and-after” images that illustrate individual and institutional actions, and each correct pair reveals concise information explaining the measure. The activity examines themes such as habitat restoration, species-friendly practices, urban greening and policy responses, helping participants understand the impact and rationale behind everyday and organisational conservation choices.
