Dominic Egli “PLURISM: Farewell, Feya”

PLURISM planned to conclude their UMHLANGANO project tour, but the unexpected passing of legendary South African trumpeter and prolific composer Feya Faku altered their course. Faku was not only a remarkable mentor but also an exceptional conductor. The ensemble, featuring standout young South African saxophonists Mthunzi Mvubu and Sisonke Xonti, alongside bassist Raffaele Bossard and leader Dominic Egli, honors Faku by performing selections from his impressive repertoire of 94 compositions. Their tribute captures the sensuality and explosive serenity that embodied Faku’s spirit.
