The Schubertiades of Thônex is a lively classical music festival founded by brothers Darryl and Damien Bachmann, later joined by their younger brother Donatien. In close collaboration with the Commune of Thônex, it has become a beloved annual event offering a rich, accessible program. The Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (OSR), conducted by Daniele Gatti, presents an evening dedicated to Beethoven featuring Christian Tetzlaff on violin. The program includes the Violin Concerto in D major, op. 61, and the Symphony No. 3 “Eroica,” op. 55. Renowned for his intelligent and sensitive interpretation, Tetzlaff provides a personal approach to the concerto, while Gatti highlights the tender and humanistic aspects of Beethoven in the symphony.

21 & 22 May

Yann Marussich presents his latest performance “Corps Manquant” at La Comédie de Genève during the Out of the Box Festival – Biennale of Inclusive Arts. This work explores themes of amputation, absence, and the dignity of those affected by landmines in Mozambique. Marussich uses his own body to challenge the boundaries between body and mind, seen and unseen. Following the performance, there will be a discussion with the artist and a panel session. The event also features screenings of video performances, an artistic workshop for amputees, and an exhibition of graphic artworks.

An unusual duo blending the sounds of harp and trombone with works by Piazzolla, Ginastera, and Villa-Lobos, as well as contemporary pieces inspired by Latin influences. Carlotta Bulgarelli on harp and Francesco D’Urso on trombone deliver a fusion of tango rhythms, Brazilian folklore, and South American classical compositions.
