Afterwork Book Club : Reading Differently

A welcoming book club that explores how reading can be experienced in new ways. Each meeting offers thematic discussions, rapid book pitches and practical writing workshops designed to stimulate imagination and critical reading. Sessions investigate narrative tropes, celebrate disruptive contemporary literature and propose exercises to develop creative writing practice. Participants exchange perspectives, deconstruct genres and discover new approaches to reading, interpretation and collective creation.

Designed for emerging professionals and recent graduates, this workshop explores puppetry through the creation of a short performance. Four to five young artists are supported through a guided process from idea to stage, with mentorship in direction, dramaturgy and construction. Participants develop a compact work presented at a public work-in-progress showcase. The programme also offers the chance to win a fully funded four-week training placement in 2027 at Odradek, near Toulouse.

This interactive memory challenge invites participants to test their memory while exploring practical ways to preserve biodiversity based on Geneva’s municipal strategy. Players match “before-and-after” images that illustrate individual and institutional actions, and each correct pair reveals concise information explaining the measure. The activity examines themes such as habitat restoration, species-friendly practices, urban greening and policy responses, helping participants understand the impact and rationale behind everyday and organisational conservation choices.

23 – 24 May

Marisa Cornejo, Chilean artist based between Switzerland and Chile, trained in contemporary dance and visual arts with an MA. Her research on memory and forced migration informs her performance and archive-based practice.

This workshop explores writing from dream and sound memories, examining somatic memory, fragility, and vulnerability. Participants will draft texts from dreams and auditory recollections, develop dialogues to surface alternative interpretations, and use techniques — dream recall, handwriting, drawing, sound and collage — to expand narratives and collective strategies for articulating embodied memory.

English, Spanish, and French are all welcome.

22 November – 24 May

Le Grand Chantier is the flagship workshop of the TMG that invites puppet enthusiasts to explore all stages of creating a performance, from fabrication to stagecraft, across five intensive weekends. Led by Olivier Carrel with expert contributors, the programme examines construction, manipulation, writing and directing while emphasizing practical skills and collective creation. Participants develop a piece through guided exercises, collaborative rehearsals and scenographic work. Open to participants aged 12 and up.

21 – 24 May

Les yeux grand fermés is a durational radio-art project presented within a sound art biennial that stages listening as a sculptural practice. Curated by Clara Alloing, Céline Carridroit and Marie Jeanson, the programme gathers archival and contemporary radio creations — broadcasts, podcasts and performative transmissions — into a sequence of listening sessions, performances and nocturnal experiments. Themes of disappearance, mediation and the politics of FM airwaves inform an attentive, darkened setting designed to foreground sonic narratives and the materiality of listening.

19 May – 4 June

Les Ateliers Acrylique are a theatrical school that celebrates the strength of group work and the intensity of stage experience. The workshops present performances written especially for participants — children, teenagers and adults — and are led by professional artists. Creators involved include Nathalie Jaggi, Delphine Demeure, Lua Gomes, Léa Ines Batoua, Evelyne Castellino, Basile Campanelli and Luca Léone. The programme emphasises collective creation, practical stage skills and ensemble dynamics.
