A Journey Through World Dances and Music

In its third edition, the event aboard the Bateau Genève invites professors from the ADEM for a vibrant celebration of world music and dance. Approximately thirty artists will offer a series of captivating 30-minute mini-concerts and performances, encouraging attendees to embark on a unique musical and artistic journey along the Quai Gustave Ador.

Under the glow of a streetlamp, two students await an interview with Grisélidis Réal, set as part of their final studies. In a Beckett-inspired setting, they encounter sex workers, challenging their preconceptions. Zizi Zozio is a performance by Marvin M’Toumo, an artist and designer trained in Nice and Geneva, that merges theater, fashion, and poetry. It reflects on his childhood in Guadeloupe and a dream of living among pelicans. The performer embodies a bird adorned with feathers, addressing themes of violence, sexuality, memory, and survival through a blend of storytelling, breath, cries, and song. Through this hybrid character, he authentically explores issues of gender and race, using art as a space for questioning and reconciliation.

9 & 10 September

Mathieu Despoisse and Etienne Manceau bring “Pling-Klang” to the Festival La Bâtie. This playful and inventive piece delves into the dynamics of DIY and couplehood through a game of ping-pong. With humor and camaraderie, the two performers explore themes of love while assembling a shelf, offering a hilarious and heartfelt show that can be enjoyed solo or with friends.

2 – 14 September

“État Sauvage” offers a theatrical experience where humor and discomfort intertwine. It follows two men, referred to as the One and the Other, who meet in a park transformed into a wild space, challenging violence and reason. The play delves into our inner barbarism and the delicacy of civilization through compelling performances, highlighted by intricate lighting and evocative music. Stéphane Jaubertie’s script is powerful and contemporary, crafting a disturbingly mesmerizing human tableau. The production has been awarded the first regional prize from Rhône-Alpes at the FESTHEA festival and closed the Avignon IF festival.

29 August – 11 September

Jeanne Spaeter introduces a unique concept: a romantic relationship structured by a contract with 14 clauses and a trial period of 365 days. Documented and shared on Instagram with the hashtag #relationamoureusedequalité, the project features Mike, the chosen candidate. On stage, the audience participates by selecting objects, asking questions, voting, and sharing laughs. This performance challenges perceptions of love while providing entertainment.

24 June – 14 September

This summer, the MEG invites you to unwind under the museum’s canopy, where deckchairs await, infused with music. Embrace a peaceful moment to listen to tunes, read a book, or just relax. The permanent exhibit and the Rencontres exhibition also provide cool spaces for a musical interlude and touching stories surrounding meaningful objects.
