The Théâtre du Loup, established in Geneva in 1978, is a dynamic independent company with a 200-seat theater in the Vernets-Acacias neighborhood. It produces around twelve performances annually, prioritizing original works, and runs a theater school for children and teenagers. Known for its creativity and dedication to both children’s and adult theater, the company also features the MUZOO, a collection that showcases its scenic creations.
To celebrate its new leadership, Théâtre du Loup is hosting a festive weekend. On Saturday, the season kicks off with an introduction to upcoming shows, a communal meal, a free performance of Fanny Krähenbühl’s “Fury Room,” followed by a DJ night. Sunday features a neighborhood tour in PAV, a large communal afternoon snack, and a ticketed performance of “Fury Room.” This performance humorously explores the potential of rage and has won the Premio 2024 competition. Reservations recommended.
The play “Five Days in March” by Toshiki Okada, directed by Nadim Ahmed, captures the lives of young Tokyoites in March 2003 against the backdrop of the Iraq War. A couple randomly meets and isolates themselves in a love hotel, while other aimless characters drift nearby, preoccupied with their everyday lives and uncertainties. This play portrays a generation caught between carefree living and a sense of powerlessness in the face of historical events.
