Théâtre de Terre-Sainte is a regional performing arts venue in Coppet that presents theatre, comedy, music and family programmes. It hosts touring productions and local cultural projects in an intimate auditorium, supports community events and regional cultural exchange, and plays a central role in Terre-Sainte’s cultural life.

An award-winning comedy by Wole Soyinka, this staging follows Sidi, the village ‘jewel’, as she becomes the centre of a satirical clash between tradition and modernity. Director Yvette Stevens shapes a vibrant production that blends storytelling, music and dance, yoking sharp humour to ritual and spectacle. The opposing suitors—Lakunle, a westernised schoolteacher, and the wily chief Baroka—embody cultural tensions that the ensemble explores through lively choreography and precise comic timing.
