Ferme de Mamajah is an eco-site and organic educational farm on the Presqu’île de Loëx in Bernex. The farm promotes agroecology and biodiversity, offering organic produce, educational programmes, workshops and community events. It serves as a living laboratory for sustainable agriculture and a local cultural resource for environmental learning.
Natacha, workshop facilitator, presents the main dye plants and their edible uses, and explains how they are identified and prepared for colouring.
The session explores identification and harvesting of dye plants, basic extraction techniques for natural colours, and their culinary applications. Participants will learn practical insights into seasonality, safety and sustainable use of plant-based colourants through short demonstrations and a discussion of traditional and contemporary uses.
