Friday 5 February, 19:30

Led by pianist, composer and conductor Nikolay Khozyainov, the Peace Philharmonic Orchestra traces a journey between luminous lyricism and searing modernity. The programme pairs Barber’s Adagio for Strings and Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No.1 with the world premieres of Khozyainov’s Intermezzo for Strings and his Piano Concerto, foregrounding intimacy and orchestral power. Sparse textures, incandescent piano writing and decisive brass moments shape a concert of solemn beauty and eruptive energy, inviting a reflective and visceral listening experience.

Thursday 11 February, 19:30

Two-piano programme performed by David Chen and Lucas Chiche explores a rich Romantic and Baroque repertoire, including works by Brahms, Bach (arr. Busoni), Liszt, Rachmaninov and Chopin. The pianists combine technical precision with expressive dialogue, alternating dense textures and luminous counterpoint to reveal fresh perspectives on familiar masterpieces. Expect intimate interplay, dynamic contrasts and a poetic sense of architecture that highlights both virtuosity and chamber-music sensitivity.

Tuesday 23 February, 19:30

Renowned for its precision and expressive depth, the Juilliard String Quartet presents a programme pairing French clarity and Eastern European intensity. Violins Areta Zhulla and Leonard Fu, violist Molly Carr and cellist Astrid Schween shape Ravel’s lush string quartet alongside Bartók’s rhythmic drive and Grieg’s brooding lyricism. The performance balances chamber intimacy and orchestral sonorities, offering refined ensemble interplay, vivid dynamics and a contemplative, emotionally charged listening experience.

Friday 5 March, 19:30

Under the baton of Sergey Ostrovsky, this orchestral programme juxtaposes drama and virtuosity through Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture, his Violin Concerto, and the iconic Fifth Symphony. The repertoire moves from intimate lyricism to thunderous motor rhythms, offering a concentrated, symphonic narrative shaped by precise phrasing, dynamic contrasts and a finely tuned ensemble sound. Expect cadenced tension, luminous solo lines and a propulsive finale that reaffirms the music’s emotional and structural power.

Sunday 7 March, 11:00

Chamber music program pairing 20th‑century masterpieces with contemporary voices. A string quartet presents Jacques Hétu’s lyrical Second Quartet, Jennifer Higdon’s evocative Voices and Henri Dutilleux’s spectral Ainsi la nuit, revealing shifting textures and luminous sonorities. Pianist Cristian Zimmerman collaborates with violinists Guillaume Jacot, violist Luca Casciato and cellist Lucas Henry to create intimate dialogues, precise ensemble playing and concentrated emotional arcs that unfold with clarity and warmth.

Tuesday 23 March, 19:30

Led by Jan Talich Jr., the Talich Quartet offers a vibrant programme of Central European chamber music. The ensemble—Jan Talich Jr. and Roman Patočka on violin, Radim Sedmidubský on viola, Michal Kaňka on cello—are joined by Ľubomír Gašpar on cymbalum for a programme that ranges from Dvořák’s lyrical American Quartet and his Gypsy Songs excerpts to Janáček’s Moravian folk songs, Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances and virtuosic showpieces by Boulanger, Dinicu and Ivan Vasiliev. The performance balances lyricism, folk-infused rhythms and fiery virtuosity.
