Immerse yourself in the world of illustrated storytelling during the Les Créatives festival at the Cité Library with “De Bois et d’Os.” This lecture brings together the poetry of a screenwriter and live drawing by an illustrator to animate the story of the Penan nomads of Borneo. Through hunting scenes and their resistance against logging companies, the narrative pays tribute to their dedication to Indigenous issues. Following the performance, a discussion will delve into the making of this graphic novel, highlighting respect for Penan culture. The event is presented in partnership with the municipal libraries of Geneva.
On this special occasion, the musicians — who become puppeteers for the event — will share the behind-the-scenes story of this unclassifiable creation, blending musical invention, puppet-making, and stage exploration.
