Fête du Théâtre

An annual mediation project, Fête du Théâtre gathers Geneva’s community around the performing arts, showcasing contemporary and classical theatre, street spectacles, youth shows, circus and magic alongside workshops and encounters. The programme favours collaborative, colourful staging and experimental approaches, blending professional and amateur practices. Its varied formats create lively, tactile atmospheres where humour, wonder and social exchange meet, highlighting regional artistic daring and long-standing partnerships with local cultural institutions and associations.

Dogfight – La Comédie Musicale

Dogfight is a musical set in 1960s America on the eve of young Marines’ departure for Vietnam. The plot follows Eddie Birdlace, whose cruel ‘dogfight’ gamble is upended when he meets Rose, an idealistic and sincere young woman. Over a single night, the production confronts themes of masculinity, violence and empathy, blending gritty social realism with moments of tenderness. Sparse staging and intimate musical numbers highlight a painful coming-of-age and the possibility of moral change.

Cocanha: Two Voices and Stringed Tambourines

Cocanha is a vocal and percussion duo rooted in Occitan traditional music, performed by Lila Fraysse and Caroline Dufau with sound by Sanz Grosclaude. Two voices and stringed tambourines weave hypnotic polyphonies while foot rhythms and struck textures animate archival songs. The performance blurs archive and living tradition: melodies shift, words reappear transformed, and the intimate pulse invites physical response, carrying ancient tunes into contemporary space.

The Wheel of Fortune

Two unexpected deities arrive by bicycle, guided by a capricious GPS, carrying a very serious object: the Wheel of Fortune. They need the audience—especially children—to spin the wheel and together invent a story about a child to whom nothing seems to go right. Misfortunes pile up, luck sticks to the sneakers and solutions must be imagined. A participatory musical tale where chance and imagination shape a different story each time.

Caustic Comedy Night gathers four stand-up comedians from Switzerland, France and Belgium in a tight, high-energy evening of observational and satirical humour. Minimal staging keeps the focus on timing and delivery, creating an intimate atmosphere where rhythm and punchlines drive the experience. Faire Hamlet !

Directed by Valeria Bertolotto, Faire Hamlet! stages a company wrestling with performance and truth as rehearsals of Shakespeare’s prince unravel private tensions. Sound by Fred Jarabo, scenography by Fanny Courvoisier, lights by Alessandra Domingues and costumes by Eléonore Cassaigneau shape an intimate, unstable world where fiction bleeds into life.
