Under the direction of Elim Chan, this symphonic concert brings together contemporary and romantic sound worlds, opening with Noriko Koide’s Swaddling Silk and Gossamer Rain (Swiss premiere). Mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa features in Hector Berlioz’s Les Nuits d’été op. 7, followed by Béla Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra. The programme balances intimate song and virtuosic orchestral colour, offering lyrical intensity, dramatic contrasts and refined orchestral detail.
Samar Haddad King’s Shabaab blends dance, theatre and puppetry to trace the intimate bond between two Palestinian friends, Mohamed and Mahmoud. Through movement, dialogue and a haunting puppet by Sipho Ngxola, the piece reconstructs memories, imagined futures and the silences carved by colonial violence. The choreography explores youth, tenderness and forms of resistance, creating a fragile space where friendship becomes a means of survival and poetic witness.

Posing as a paleontologist, he handles ancient bones while tracing the extinction of dinosaurs, but the scholarly frame cracks as memory, desire and song spill out. A solo that shifts between popular science, theatre and Broadway‑style numbers, it explores loss and survival with wit, physical precision and theatrical exuberance. Anitya — L’Impermanence is a participatory solo circus performance by acrobat Inbal Ben Haim. Set among a web of taut, intertwined ropes, the piece explores impermanence, letting go and collective reconstruction. Ben Haim’s mastery of the corde lisse produces striking visual tableaux, blending physical virtuosity with intimate audience interaction as spectators are invited to untangle and lift the performer. The work is atmospheric and sculptural, balancing tension, release and quiet resilience.
Choreographed by Saša Asentić, Le Sacre du printemps is a reimagined Stravinsky landmark performed by the inclusive company Per.Art. Drawing on historical versions by the Ballets Russes, Maurice Béjart and Pina Bausch and enriched with the voices of disabled poets from Serbia, Iran, Ukraine and the United States, the seven dancers invert the original narrative. The staging transforms ritual into a manifesto of survival, blending physical rigor, collective solidarity and poetic testimony to renew the score as a cry for life.
