Thierry Lhermitte presents an original creation by Charles Pépin, inspired by his essay “La rencontre, une philosophie”. Blending readings, literature, philosophy, poetry, film dialogue, and music, the performance explores the many forms of human connection—romantic, friendly, professional, spiritual, and artistic. It is a moving philosophical journey that reflects on how encounters can transform us and reveal who we are.

About the play
1942. France is under occupation. Seven friends gather to celebrate Sophie’s birthday—until two German officers are shot beneath their windows. Kaubach, a Nazi commander, forces the guests to make an unthinkable choice: to designate two hostages among themselves.
Thus begins a harrowing struggle for survival. By confronting the depths of human nature, the play invites us to question which side we would have chosen.

Adapted by Peter Hall from George Orwell’s novel, Animal Farm is staged by Year 11 theatre students. The production channels the fable’s political bite through stripped-back staging and physical ensemble work, exploring leadership, propaganda and the corrupting nature of power. The ensemble transforms animals into archetypes, using movement, chorus and concentrated tableaux to build tense, often unsettling atmospheres. The staging balances dark satire with moments of fragile humanity, inviting reflection on authority and collective responsibility.

Formed by Jaklin and Louis, Ladaniva is a duo that fuses Balkan sonorities and Armenian roots with Anglo-Saxon pop, reimagining traditional folk through contemporary arrangements. Their sound balances intimate vocal lines and vivid instrumental textures, where modal melodies meet modern rhythms. The performance unfolds as a conversation between memory and reinvention, offering warm, transportive moments and energetic bursts that invite close listening and emotional resonance.
