Choreographed and performed by Juan Pablo Cámara, Homopticon draws on the vocabulary of peep shows, dark rooms and dating apps to stage playful, provocative embodiments—both material and digital—always seen through a lens or device. Online and offline interfaces alternate between backdrop and foreground, expanding the choreography from flesh to pixels, pulses and digital traces. Cámara’s work mixes irony, absurdity and hyper-theatricality to probe identity, mediation and surveillance, creating a charged, ambiguous atmosphere.
