Led by conductor Léonie Cachelin, the University Choir and HEM Orchestra present a program centred on sacred classics: Marianna Martines’s Dixit Dominus, Haydn’s Te Deum and Mozart’s Coronation Mass. Soloists Faustine Egiziano (soprano), Stéphanie Guérin (mezzo), Maxence Billiemaz (tenor) and Romain Favre (bass) shape luminous vocal lines, supported by rich orchestral colour. The performance blends academic precision and communal warmth, alternating grandeur and intimate moments that invite reflection and collective resonance.

About the play
1942. France is under occupation. Seven friends gather to celebrate Sophie’s birthday—until two German officers are shot beneath their windows. Kaubach, a Nazi commander, forces the guests to make an unthinkable choice: to designate two hostages among themselves.
Thus begins a harrowing struggle for survival. By confronting the depths of human nature, the play invites us to question which side we would have chosen.

Based on the Jekyll myth, this theatrical adaptation examines metamorphosis as both physical and social, probing identity, gender and the boundary between good and male/female. Stark black-and-white staging and chiaroscuro lighting evoke twilight and old horror films, while a persistent, slicing fog thickens the atmosphere. The venerable Dr Jekyll’s unsettling experiments unfold in a late-19th-century London laboratory, and his circle is drawn into mounting anguish as transformations accelerate.

Conceived from a short piece shown during Cabaret en chantier 2024, the triptych revitalizes political marionette theatre while offering a rhythmic, musical staging that sparks reflection and collective energy. The creative approach foregrounds material histories and the power of popular resistance.

With Josette Chanel, Pascale Vachoux and singer Justine Brun, the piece blends voice and song, intimate staging and evocative pacing to illuminate tenderness, rivalry and endurance in female relationships.

Madame Butterfly, an opera by Giacomo Puccini with a libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa, returns to the Grand Théâtre de Genève in a fresh production. The opera tells the heartrending story of Cio-Cio-San, a geisha who sacrifices everything for her love for an American sailor. Directed by Barbora Horáková and featuring video art by Diana Markosian, this production weaves an intergenerational and intercontinental narrative, exploring themes of tradition and personal expectations. With Corinne Winters as the lead and Stephen Costello as Pinkerton, attendees can expect a remarkable performance, all under the musical direction of Antonino Fogliani.

Co-created by Pascal Gravat and Julien Mages for Compagnie Revolver, “Nu Vite” (Naked Quickly) is a choreo-biography in which a dancer and an author probe time, ageing and the urgent need to seize each instant. The work blends intimate movement and written testimony, set to music by Pierce Warnecke with sound design by Clive Jenkins and lighting by Alessandra Domingues. The 75‑minute performance explores memory, bodily change and the delicate rhythm between presence and loss.
