Nuit Kino-Sonique is an immersive evening where contemporary music, moving image, and performance collide across the Auditorium Ansermet and the eMa. Curated with Contrechamps and La cave12, the night unfolds through a series of live sets, concert-projections, and video works by artists including Daniel Zea and Mariam Rezaei, exploring the deep, symbiotic relationship between sound, image, and technology in an ever-shifting, cinematic atmosphere.
Maël Godinat (piano), Pierre-François Massy (double bass) and William Jacquemet (trombone) present an evening of original compositions and a handful of chosen covers. The trio’s sound privileges warm harmonic textures and close interplay, seeking to reimagine familiar tunes through delicate arrangement and spontaneous dialogue. Lighting and sound are kept subtle to foreground acoustic intimacy, inviting listeners into a dreamlike atmosphere where harmonies unfold and linger.
Déconcertitudes is an augmented and playfully deconstructed concert featuring a string quartet and the Geneva-based composer Jacques Siron. Blending written scores with lightly absurd situations, unexpected gestures, and quirky words, the performance challenges traditional concert conventions and invites audiences into an inventive, unpredictable musical experience.
Directed by Joël Maillard and adapted from Nina Yargekov’s novel, Double nationalité is a choral theatrical investigation into identity and its contradictions. Four actresses — Cécile Goussard, Mélina Martin, Alicia Packer and Marie Ripoll — embody a single heroine and the chorus of her inner thoughts, navigating bilingual disorientation, memory and fantasy. Mélissa Rouvinet’s scenography, Antoine Françoise’s music and Édouard Hügli’s lighting create a dreamlike, often sharp atmosphere. What if the dinosaurs missed Noah’s Ark—not because of a meteorite, but because a sundial was thrown off by the clouds? In this whimsical yet thought-provoking opera, Charles Darwin and his beloved Galápagos iguana travel through time to give dinosaurs a second chance. Boarding a fantastical ship, the creatures set off in search of a magical plant that might transform them into birds and save them from the Flood.
Part satire, part tender fable, Les Dinos et l’Arche brings together humans, animals, and extinct species in a distorted mirror of our own changing society. Through absurd dialogues, wild transformations, and a swirl of humor and emotion, the opera reminds us that survival often demands reinvention.
Directed by Julien Condemine, with musical direction by Leonardo García-Alarcón, and performed by a vibrant cast and a ten-piece ensemble, this visually daring and musically rich production draws on baroque influences to speak to curious minds of all ages.

The new production of Rossini’s opera “L’Italienne à Alger,” directed by Julien Chavaz and conducted by Michele Spotti, promises a delightful twist on an operatic masterpiece. This satirical opera buffa, composed in 1813, subverts traditional norms with its blend of comedy and absurdity. Gaëlle Arquez takes on the role of Isabella, alongside performances by Nahuel Di Pierro and Maxim Mironov. Adding to the experience, a “Glam Night” is planned, with surtitles available in both French and English. The production features the Chorus of the Grand Théâtre de Genève and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and will be held at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices.
Directed by Cyril Teste, this restless adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s Platonov concentrates the action into a single, simmering night. Teste blends cinema and theatre, letting the camera trace fragments of conversations, music and the shifting paths of desire and solitude. Around the melancholy misanthrope Micha, an ensemble confronts money, regret and incomprehension as frustrations and longings are amplified by summer heat and drink. The staging is at once filmic and theatrical, precise and emotionally porous.
