Filmer, c’est exister is a Geneva-based film festival dedicated to Palestinian cinema, using film as a space of expression, resistance and visibility. Showcasing documentaries and fiction by Palestinian filmmakers and allies, the festival highlights lived realities, personal narratives and political contexts that are often absent from mainstream screens, affirming cinema as a vital act of existence and testimony.
CineGlobe, founded in 2007, curates a lively dialogue between art and science, and in its 15th edition explores energy, ecological, technological and generational transitions. Across screenings, immersive projects and hands-on workshops the programme traces moments of state change—gradual and abrupt—where one balance dissolves and another emerges. With a programme ranging from science documentaries to VR and animation (opening film Arco, Oscar‑nominated and Annecy Cristal winner), the festival favors sensory experiments, optical play and a quietly probing, inventive cinematic intelligence.
Ed Harris directs and stars in Pollock, a contemplative biopic that traces the turbulent life and creative obsession of painter Jackson Pollock. The film blends raw, physical performances with painterly cinematography to evoke the intensity of abstract expressionism. Through intimate close-ups and textured visuals, it examines artistic genius, addiction and the fraught relationship between creation and self-destruction. Harris’s restrained direction foregrounds mood and process, offering a cinematic meditation on making and the cost of brilliance.

A spring cycle from the Geneva University Film Club marks the 150th anniversary of UNIGE’s Faculty of Medicine, gathering ten films that probe medicine’s moral and emotional terrain. From Alfred Hitchcock’s psychoanalytic intrigue to Ingmar Bergman’s introspective intensity and David Cronenberg’s clinical horror, the program sketches portraits of doctors, caregivers and patients: dream-work, ethical dilemmas, bodily fragility and devoted care. Shot in textures from dreamlike chiaroscuro to clinical close-ups, the films balance unease and tenderness with exacting cinematic rhythms.

Callisto Mc Nulty’s La Muraille follows a frontier in southeastern Spain where the boundary between a ‘healthy’ world and one marked by disease shapes memory and belonging. Moving between past and present, the film meets witnesses and traces around the Fontilles sanatorium, once a sanctuary for people with leprosy. Poetic and intimate, the documentary blends archival echoes and close observation to examine exclusion, care and the long shadows illness casts on landscape and human connection. Presented alongside Forough Farrokhzad’s short La maison est noire.

Robina Rose’s nocturnal portrait unfolds through the watchful eye of a hotel receptionist as she witnesses the night’s circulation of eccentric guests. Shot with an avant-garde, dreamlike economy, the film stretches time and blurs reality and imagination across intertwined narratives. Featuring Pamela Rooke (Jordan) and figures from London’s counterculture, NIGHTSHIFT captures the raw textures of the early 1980s art scene, mixing punk energy with intimate, static frames that emphasize liminality, memory, and the strange poetry of the night.

Danielle Arbid’s Seuls les rebelles observes an unexpected love in a Beirut on the brink. Her intimate, observational approach frames Suzanne, a sixty-something Lebanese widow of Palestinian origin, and Osmane, a young Sudanese undocumented migrant, as their fragile bond ignites amid social collapse. The film probes migration, age, identity and solidarity through textured close-ups, saturated color passages and a patient rhythm. Presented at the Berlin Festival 2026, it balances political urgency with moments of tenderness, resisting dehumanization while honoring human agency.

This event is organized in partnership with the Geneva-based association CHANCE International, which actively supports the treatment of children with cancer, primarily in Lebanon, as well as targeted research projects, particularly on the genetic causes of cancer.
